Low Starting s.g.

Getting realy "Irrigated" at AG. With "half-arse fly sparging" last year not really knowing what I was doing I always got respectable starting specific gravities but I was always off on my volumes.

So the next season I tried batch sparging and got prediced volumes and good extraction...I always quit extracting when the drainings read 1.010 or lower. But NOW I am hard pressed to get 1.050 even with a ten lb grain bill

Solid 60 minute boil and I pitch to a final volume of 5 gallons. Should I extract more and boil 'er down more?

Brewing in Florida is a real ordeal it's so flamin' hot and ground water rarely drops below 85 degrees

Bout ready to go back to extracts.

I hear ya yodar

I lived in FLA and will never go back.

My opinion would be to oversparge and boil down to your desired gravity.
